In these Terms & Conditions, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Great Gadget Store
"you" and "your" refer to the person using our website or purchasing products from us.
About Our Products
We primarily sell second-hand, used, refurbished and/or pre-owned electronics and related equipment.
Because our products are second-hand, individual items may show signs of previous use. These may include, depending on the product:
- cosmetic marks or scratches
- minor dents or signs of wear
- wear to buttons, connectors or other components
- reduced battery capacity due to previous use
- packaging that is not original
- replacement or compatible accessories
- missing original accessories where clearly stated
- other condition differences specifically described in the product listing
The condition of each item will be described as accurately as reasonably possible in the relevant product listing.
Where a known defect, fault, missing component or significant cosmetic issue is disclosed in the product description, photographs or other information provided before purchase, you acknowledge that this forms part of the description and agreed condition of the product.
This does not affect your statutory rights where the goods fail to meet the requirements imposed by applicable consumer law.
Product Descriptions and Photographs
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, specifications and photographs are accurate.
However, photographs may not always reproduce the exact appearance, colour or condition of a product due to lighting, photography equipment and display settings.
Where an individual second-hand item is pictured, the photographs may show the actual item you will receive. Where a stock or representative image is used, this will be made clear where appropriate.
You should read the complete product description, including any condition notes, before placing an order.
If you are unsure about the condition, compatibility or specifications of a product, please contact us before ordering.
Product Condition
Unless otherwise stated, products sold as second-hand or used are not new and may show reasonable signs of previous use.
The fact that a product is second-hand does not remove your statutory consumer rights.
When assessing whether a second-hand product is of satisfactory quality, factors including the product's age, description, price, condition and any defects or limitations specifically disclosed before purchase may be relevant.
We will not describe a product as being in a particular condition where we know that description would be misleading.
Spares, Repairs and Faulty Items
Some products may be sold specifically as:
- spares or repair
- faulty
- non-working
- incomplete
- damaged
- for parts
- untested
- otherwise unsuitable for normal use.
Where this is the case, the product listing will clearly explain the relevant condition and intended use to the extent reasonably possible.
A product sold specifically for spares or repair may not be suitable for normal operation.
However, a description such as "spares or repair" does not remove statutory rights where applicable. We will not rely on such wording to conceal or exclude a fault or characteristic that should have been disclosed.
Batteries and Consumable Components
Batteries and other consumable components naturally deteriorate with use and age.
Unless a specific battery capacity, condition or runtime is expressly guaranteed in the product listing, normal degradation associated with age and previous use may form part of the condition of a second-hand product.
However, safety-related battery problems, including swelling, leakage or other potentially hazardous conditions, should be reported to us immediately.
You should stop using any product if you believe the battery or another component presents a safety risk.
Compatibility
You are responsible for checking that a product is suitable and compatible with your intended equipment, accessories, software, power supply and intended use, where this information is reasonably available to you before purchase.
Where we provide compatibility information in a product listing, we will take reasonable care to ensure that information is accurate.
If you require a product for a particular purpose that is not obvious from its normal use, please contact us before purchasing so that we can advise whether the product is suitable.
Nothing in this section removes any statutory rights that apply where you have made a particular purpose known to us and the relevant legal requirements are satisfied.
Prices
All prices displayed on our website are in pounds sterling (£).
Unless otherwise stated, the price shown for a product does not include delivery charges. Applicable delivery charges will be displayed before you complete your order.
Where VAT is applicable, this will be handled and displayed in accordance with applicable UK requirements.
We take reasonable care to ensure that prices are accurate. If we discover an obvious pricing error before your order has been accepted, we may contact you before accepting the order.
Placing an Order
You can place an order through our website by following the checkout process.
Before completing your purchase, you will have an opportunity to review your order and correct any errors.
When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your basket.
An automated order confirmation may be sent to you acknowledging receipt of your order. This does not necessarily mean that your order has been accepted.
Your order will be accepted when we confirm that the order has been accepted and/or when we dispatch the product, depending on the wording of our order confirmation.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where there is a legitimate reason to do so, including where:
- a product is unavailable
- there has been an obvious pricing or listing error
- we reasonably suspect fraudulent activity
- payment cannot be authorised
- the product has been incorrectly listed
- we are unable to fulfil the order
- circumstances outside our reasonable control prevent fulfilment
If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will provide an appropriate refund.
Payment
We accept the payment methods displayed during checkout.
Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers including:
- Stripe
- PayPal
Payment information may be processed directly by the relevant payment provider in accordance with its own terms and privacy information.
We do not ordinarily store your full payment card number or card security code on our own ecommerce systems.
An order may not be dispatched until payment has been successfully authorised or otherwise confirmed.
Delivery
We currently deliver to:
[INSERT DELIVERY AREAS]
Available delivery options and charges will be shown during checkout.
We will make reasonable efforts to dispatch orders within the timeframe stated on our website.
Delivery times are estimates unless we have specifically agreed a guaranteed delivery date with you.
Once your order has been dispatched, delivery may be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including postal or courier delays.
If your order arrives damaged, appears to have been tampered with, or does not arrive within the expected timeframe, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Further information is provided in our Shipping & Returns Policy.
Ownership of Products
Products remain our property until we have received full payment for the relevant order.
Once full payment has been received and the product has been delivered to you, ownership will transfer to you, subject to any rights or obligations arising under applicable law.
Your Consumer Rights
If you are purchasing as a consumer, you have statutory rights under UK consumer law.
These rights include requirements that goods:
- are of satisfactory quality
- are fit for purpose where the relevant legal requirements apply
- match their description
These requirements apply to second-hand goods as well as new goods, although the condition, age, description and price of a second-hand product can be relevant when assessing satisfactory quality.
We will not exclude or restrict your statutory rights through these Terms & Conditions.
For example, we cannot rely on a statement such as "sold as seen" or "no refunds" to remove statutory rights that apply to your purchase.
Faulty, Damaged or Misdescribed Products
If you believe that a product is faulty, damaged or does not match its description, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
We may ask for information, photographs or video demonstrating the issue so that we can assess the problem.
Depending on the circumstances and your legal rights, we may offer:
- a repair
- a replacement
- a price reduction
- a refund
Your legal rights may vary depending on the nature of the problem, when it is reported and the circumstances of the purchase.
We will not require you to pay for remedies that we are legally responsible for providing.
Please refer to our Returns & Refunds Policy and Warranty Policy for further information.
Your Right to Cancel an Online Order
If you are a consumer purchasing online, you may have a statutory right to cancel your order within the applicable cancellation period without giving a reason.
Details of how to exercise this right, the applicable time limits and the return process are provided in our Shipping & Returns Policy.
Certain statutory exceptions may apply depending on the nature of the product or circumstances of the order.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions removes or restricts any cancellation rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Returns
Products returned to us must be sent in accordance with our Shipping & Returns Policy.
Where you exercise a statutory cancellation right, you should take reasonable care of the goods while they are in your possession.
Where permitted by law, we may take account of any reduction in the value of goods resulting from handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
This does not affect your statutory rights where the product is faulty, misdescribed or otherwise fails to conform to the contract.
Warranty
Some products may be supplied with an additional warranty provided by us.
Where an additional warranty applies, the duration and terms of that warranty will be stated in the relevant product listing and/or our Warranty Policy.
Our warranty is an additional benefit and does not replace or restrict your statutory consumer rights.
Warranty exclusions may include damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, liquid damage, unauthorised repair or modification, incompatible accessories or power supplies, or use outside the product's intended purpose, subject to your statutory rights.
Reasonable Use of Products
Products should be used for their intended purpose and in accordance with applicable manufacturer instructions and safety information.
Normal use means using the product for its intended purpose, taking reasonable care of it and using compatible accessories, chargers and power supplies.
Our warranty does not normally cover damage or faults caused by misuse, accidental damage, liquid damage, unauthorised modification or repair, incompatible accessories or power supplies, or use inconsistent with the product's intended purpose.
This does not allow us to exclude liability for a fault that was already present or for statutory rights that apply to the sale.
Account Registration
Some features of our website may require you to create an account.
You are responsible for keeping your account login details confidential and for taking reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access to your account.
You should notify us promptly if you believe that your account has been accessed without permission.
We reserve the right to suspend or close an account where there is a legitimate reason to do so, including suspected fraud, abuse or unlawful activity.
Account closure will not affect any statutory rights or obligations relating to an existing order.

- any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited
Where you are a consumer, we will not use these Terms & Conditions to deprive you of rights that you are legally entitled to.
